PwC has a global team of Portfolio and Programme Management (PPM) professionals who specialise in designing and delivering complex transformational programmes. In the UK we have close to 130 professionals in the Portfolio and Programme Management (PPM) competency, and are known for our 'transformation leadership' capability. Effective transformational change programmes are characterised by a programmatic approach to delivery and an intelligent, evidence based approach to decision making and governance. PPM provides this through 3 main service offerings (embedded within our core transformation offerings): - Establishing and governing change portfolios- Programme leadership and delivery - Intelligent programme and portfolio office management With the increasing recognition and demand for dedicated portfolio and programme management expertise, we have several exciting opportunities to join our growing team and bring proven industry expertise and leadership combined with technical skills and a desire to develop our practice, service offerings and industry reach.
As a Senior Associate in the PPM competency, you can expect the following: -
Being a key and integral PwC engagement team member, producing high quality deliverables and taking responsibility for delivering discrete elements of the programme and/or engagement.
- An opportunity to develop deep technical expertise in complex portfolio or programme environments and to develop broader programme management expertise in delivery work streams.
- Supervising and coaching more junior members of the team to achieve high quality outputs in a timely and accurate manner.
- Contributing towards PPM competency and people development, business development activities and supporting the growth of our priority industry sectors.
- Supporting the development of others both on and off engagements. - Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
- Use a broad range of digital tools and techniques to extract insights and sector trends.
- Develop and maintain relationships with client stakeholders to support engagement delivery and future business development opportunities
Some experience of carrying out three or more of the following core project management activities:
- Identifying, documenting or agreeing a scope of work
- Identifying, segmenting or managing stakeholders
- Establishing or supporting the operation of governance bodies / committees
- Conducting performance reporting
- Developing business cases, or identifying, tracking and managing benefits
- Managing risks, issues, opportunities and dependencies
- Developing, resourcing and managing delivery schedules
- Supporting the management of deliverable quality
- Controlling changes to scope and commercial agreements
- Managing suppliers
- Building and supporting multidisciplinary teams
- Supporting organisational learning and assurance
An interest in understanding the value that a project or programme offers to the client and how workstreams, activities and deliverables should be aligned to achieve the expected outcomes and deliver benefits.
An interest in coordinating (and later leading) reading large, multidisciplinary teams. Able to be flexible and adaptable to different work environments.
Proactive in identifying and intelligently managing challenges.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and support the teams' development and wellbeing.
Able to articulate the value that programme, portfolio, project management and PMOs can bring to a large and/or complex engagements.
An interest in the private sector, which is comprised of the following Industries:
- Retail and Consumer - Industrial Products and Services - Energy, Utilities and Resources - Technology, Communications and Media
