Programme Managers - Construction

Due to continued growth and a number of major new projects, my client is looking for Programme Managers for various locations across the UK.

These consultative roles present an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to take responsibility for providing programme management services on a number of interesting projects over various locations in the UK. They have multiple projects acrosss multiple sectors from central government to residential, retail and commercial.

This person will perform a variety of programme, commercial, logistical, and contract management duties, in a fast-paced and innovative working environment.

The ideal candidates will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.

You must have a good, proven understanding of how to plan, manage and control successful construction programmes; while also having the versatility and all-round construction expertise to effectively co-ordinate and communicate with site teams, design teams, commercial teams and suppliers.

You will be based remotely although you are more than welcome to work from the nearest office to you. There will be some travel to sites.

Professional Skills:

Ideally but not essential,have a working knowledge of architecture, engineering and design principles, building systems, code regulations and construction practices and the ability to apply this knowledge to complex problems

Demonstrate ability to prepare accurate project cost estimates and budgets with reasonable speed.

Ability to work constructively with a wide range of technical and professional people

Ability to coordinate multiple projects and agencies

Proven experience of project management

Experience of organizing a wide range of events

Management and preparation of key stage reports from feasibility through to completion and post-handover

Preparation of various programmes

Management of meetings, taking and preparation of minutes

Preparation of progress reports and presentation at monthly client meetings

Running a competitive tender process including managing queries from tendering contractors

Managing multiple projects on 'LIVE' operational sites

Assistance with the preparation of contract documents

Management of multi-disciplinary project teams

Working knowledge of various forms of building contracts

Experience of Administering NEC building contracts

Industrial sector experience

Desirable

* Professional Qualifications -CIOB, APM, RICS

* Experience of programme/portfolio management

* Experience of working as part of a client organisation

* Detailed knowledge and experience of JCT, design & build, fixed price contracts

* Experience of sustainable design and delivery
