Job description

A vocational awarding body based in the heart of the Midlands are recruiting for a Qualifications and Assessment Manager on a permanent basis. This is a newly created key management role to enable the organisation's vision of creating qualifications that change lives. The Qualifications and Assessment Manager will be the 'go to' expert for all product development related activities and manage the full portfolio of qualifications.

As the Qualifications and Assessment Manager you will lead and manage the qualifications & assessment development team in order to ensure an efficient, effective and quality assured service that includes the development, maintenance and review of qualifications and assessment resources. You will ensure the effective and efficient use of resources within the team and work with the Director to ensure the department is properly represented at senior level.

This role will also develop and deliver an annual qualification development and review plan which will be linked to the strategic plan of the organisation. This will include the review and any subsequent re-development work, new qualification developments and the development of new assessment resources for Centres. You will identify and make recommendations based on business cases for qualification development and review activity and manage the preparation, revision and re-submission of evidence as well as lead on the product development related regulatory recommendations.

The Qualifications and Assessment Manager duties will also include ensuring the quality and compliance of the qualification developments, validity reviews, assessment strategies and comparability. You will also maintain an accurate and up to date understanding of local, regional, national, and international policy drivers, initiatives, and developments to inform the development, review, re-development and funding the organisation's products and services.

This is an ideal role for someone with very thorough experience of developing and reviewing qualifications and accompanying materials. You will have a knowledge of awarding body and regulatory structures, as well as credit-based qualifications. This post requires someone with an understanding of current funding legislation and cross sector post 16 education and lifelong learning.
It would be beneficial if you have supervised or managed team members and developed online learning materials. Your application will also stand out if you have experience of designing and developing assessment support resources.

The organisation is currently operating a blended approach to working with some people in the office and some people working from home. Whilst their ideal would be someone who can be in the office when needed they are open to discussing flexible working and would consider remote applications.
