Our client are a start-up joint venture business, specifically created to design, construct and deliver a new low carbon power solution harnessing nuclear technology.
The Post
For the right individual, we have a fantastic opportunity to join the company's Quality team working as an Integrated Management System Quality Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for helping to shape and manage the development and deployment of quality arrangements, processes, architecture and management systems to meet business, customer and regulatory requirements, best practice and quality excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Developing, communicating and promoting the Integrated Management System (IMS) strategy needed to support the strategic intent.
• Determining priorities and supporting performance and progress reviews against programme targets.
• Lead and manage a team of System Specialists and Architects including training, development and appraisals.
• Interpreting stakeholder system requirements and ensuring appropriate governance is applied in the development and deployment of the IMS, architecture and process interfaces.
• Acting as a focal point for the IMS, you will coach and assist management and their teams to ensure processes are defined, appropriate, effective, governed and maintained.
• Lead business process modelling thinking and process mapping activities to identify linkages between the high-level model architecture and the IMS.
• Working closely with a wide range of stakeholders providing quality support to all functions including marketing, project and programme management, engineering, manufacturing, and the supply chain, gaining experience of a range of activities.
• Carrying out reviews, audits and system checks, identifies gaps and deployment issues, manages and continually improves the IMS for ease of use and understanding.
• You will help drive corrective and preventative actions through to resolution.
• Provide support to certification programme and external nuclear regulatory assessments and reviews.
Required Competencies
Degree qualified or equivalent experience, you will have significant working knowledge of operating within a technical or programme environment.
• Experienced in the development quality strategies and change management programmes.
• Management of quality integrated management systems, tools and software.
• Experienced in the creation and review of documents and procedures with a keen eye for detail and accuracy is important.
• Experienced in facilitating process mapping and problem-solving activities and workshops.
• Working on engineering delivery programmes with multiple stakeholder requirements.
• Management of staff and working with cross functional teams at all levels.
• Be focused, driven and agile with the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Be able to effectively coach and influence others and manage expectations.
• Understand how organisations work and be able to use both formal channels and informal networks to get things done
• A strong negotiator and be able to combat resistance or setbacks to achieve results.
• A problem solver who seeks to find the root cause and present recommendations.
• You must be IT literate with the ability to analyse and manipulate data and turn it into actionable information.
• Previous auditing experience would be desirable.
• Experience of the nuclear industry, regulatory and ASME III NQA-1 design and construction codes requirements and expectation would be desirable.
Qualifications
Degree qualified or equivalent experience, you will have significant working knowledge of quality management system development, assurance, improvement within a Technical / Programme or Project environment. Preferably with experience in the nuclear industry and in ASME design code.
Work conditions
• Travel: work is typically office based in Derby or Warrington, though may require some travel within the working day when visiting other branches or organisations.
• Working hours: are office hours with some overtime as required.
