Job description
Receptionist
36 hours per week (Term Time only), Salary Range £15,937-£16,256 (Actual)
This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional individual to join our administrative team as the first point of contact for parents, pupils and visitors. We are looking for a candidate who has an excellent range of interpersonal skills and who will be highly effective in sharing the school's ethos and values through their approach to this role.
Responsible to the Business Manager, the holder of this post will be part of a team providing support throughout the school. The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 8.00am - 4.15pm and 8.00am to 4.00pm on Friday (38 week contract)
Within the context of the School's Mission Statement and Aims and Objectives to include the following duties:
TASKS
Ø Undertake reception duties, answering general telephone, face-to-face enquiries and signing in and out visitors on Inventry system
Ø Control the vehicle and pedestrian gate entry system to ensure only essential visitors are permitted into school
Ø Filter telephone calls on behalf of school and Leadership Team ensuring only urgent and relevant calls are transferred
Ø Produce clear and concise messages and distribute in a timely manner
Ø Assist with pupil first aid
Ø Sort and distribute inbound mail and prepare mail for postage
Ø Receive deliveries
Ø Assist with school uniform collection
ADMINISTRATION
Ø Provide general administrative support
Ø Update SIMS relating to late arrivals, absences and pupils leaving school early
Ø Undertake relevant IT based tasks e.g. word, excel, databases, spreadsheets, internet
Ø Maintain the epi-pen, emergency epi pen and emergency inhaler registers
Ø Assist administration team with school evacuation procedure
Ø Maintain reception stock and supplies, distributing as necessary
Ø Be aware of and comply with procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, escalating all concerns to an appropriate person
Ø Be aware of and support difference and ensure equal opportunities for all
Ø Contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school
Ø Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
Ø Participate in training and other learning activities and including performance management.
OTHER DUTIES
