Omya is a producer of industrial minerals, mainly fillers and pigments derived from calcium carbonate and dolomite, and a worldwide distributor of speciality chemicals.

Job Description

The Key Responsibilities of the Sales Manager are:

To grow and develop the Personal Care, Food, Home Care, Nutrition, Pharma and Pet Food markets.
Work closely with Omya distribution and calcium carbonate product managers for specific product or application pursuits.
Work closely with customer service and logistics teams for day to day customer request management (order management, pricing, logistics, regulatory and quality request management, complaint management).
Work closely with order fulfilment teams (distribution and Omya plants) to ensure customer expectations are being met.
Identify and pursue market development opportunities through proactive gathering of market intelligence.
Identify and address customer's needs in a timely manner.
Conduct weekly and monthly activity reporting.
Increase sales by offering products which are closely aligned to the core product and introducing new customers, according to yearly set objectives. Develop annual budgets / forecasts.
Build and maintain customer relationships in order to identify new opportunities and grow sales.
Attend external and internal events (tradeshows, conferences, industry events, local and pan-regional sales meetings, etc.).
The Successful Applicant

The Successful Sales Manager will:

Ideally commercially oriented personal care and/or food technology graduate, or business graduate with relevant personal care and or food industry. Pharma - Nutra experience a plus.
Minimum 5-10 years' experience in field sales, ideally gained in UKI with a personal care/food ingredients manufacturer or distributor.
Ability to generate and carry out multiple daily customer sales meetings.
Strong negotiation, problem solving and account management skills.
Highly customer focused.
Able to navigate in complex environments.
Self-driven, highly motivated, able to set priorities. Desire to consistently exceed expectations.
Team player within the UKI and Consumer Goods Europe Sales structure.
Excellent planning, organisation, time management, written + verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (ideally Salesforce.com).
