The Role
Vision for Education is seeking supply SEMH Teaching Assistant for Key Stage 3&4 to work in local SEMH schools across Teesside, starting in January. Working in multiple schools on a one-to-one basis and general classroom support in friendly and supportive specialist settings, with children aged 11 to 16 with Social and Emotional needs. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with previous work experience in a SEMH Teaching Assistant or supporting vulnerable people with transferrable skills to a classroom setting. It is a great opportunity to get exposure into an education setting support young children and adults.
The school
The specialist schools cater for students in with communication and interaction problems, learning difficulties and social or emotional issues. The schools offer brilliant facilities and resources, and the staff pride themselves on their child-centred approach. Most schools we work with have excellent public transport links, but access to a vehicle would be advantageous.
Requirements
To be considered for the SEMH Teaching Assistant role you must:
Hold a driving licence, which would be preferred, but not essential.
Be Comfortable with personal care in numerous settings.
Confident de-escalating challenging situations. Training would be an advantage but not essential.
Hold a DBS certificate would be an advantage but not essential this can be arranged.
