Allstaff Recruitment are currently seeking an Senior Electrical Design Engineer based in Letchworth for a well-established engineering company.

Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum
Location: Letchworth
Type of Contract: Permanent, Full time
Hours: 37.5 hours a week, Monday - Friday.

The role...

As the Senior Electrical Design Engineer your role will involve the following important duties:

Supervising and mentoring less senior engineers and technicians.
Review and check reports, drawings, designs and calculations.
Contributing and leading design reviews.
Provide coaching and training to less experienced staff.
Conduct investigations into design and procedure failures.
Produce engineering designs, calculations and specifications.
Oversee calculations, specifications drawings and reports.
Provide technical liaison and support for customers.
Contributing to developing business through support to sales meetings and proposal preparation.
Electrical system Design to specification, cost and time targets.
Producing schematics, layouts and specifying standard components in Solidworks Electrical CAD packages.
Conduct CE Risk Assessment analysis.
Compile Bills of Materials (BoM).
Contribute to the Technical Construction File.
Prepare technical reports and documentation.
Highlight all electrical technical risks to Senior engineers, discipline and project managers.
Work with mechanical and software teams integrating all disciplines into the design.
The experience required...

As a successful Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will have the following:

Awarded a 1st or 2nd class honours Masters Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
Extensive experience working within the Electrical Engineering field.
Demonstrated aspiration, or eligibility, to register at Chartered Engineer status with a recognised Engineering institution.
Solidworks CAD Modelling, Drafting and analysis experience.
Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation.
Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical people in a visual and verbal manner.
Able to use hand tools.
