Senior Governance Lawyer and Deputy Monitoring Officer

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an ambitious individual as a Senior Governance Lawyer and Deputy Monitoring Officer is required to join a highly reputable social enterprise firm on a permanent basis. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a one of a kind alternative business structure which prides itself on providing legal services across its public sector clients mainly local government.

The duties of the Senior Governance Lawyer and Deputy Monitoring Officer include, but are not limited to;

You will be joining a governance team which comprises of 4 in total and will report directly to the Head of Governance
You will be required to pick up governance related matters on behalf of one main client to which you will serve as the Deputy Monitoring Officer for and be required to deputise when the Head of Governance and MO is absent
You will be undertaking governance work which will include; reviewing the constitution, members complaints, member conduct matters, advising members, attending meetings etc.
You will also pick up governance work such as investigations on behalf of external clients

This is a great role for someone who has previous governance experience and is looking to take their career to the next step. You will develop your governance experience whilst acting as the Deputy Monitoring officer which will add great value for those looking to move forward into senior positions.

This role is offering hybrid working with office and remote working available. They are also offering a local government pension scheme and excellent holiday allowance.
