Software Defect Manager Permanent - Milton Keynes/Remote

We have a fantastic opportunity to work for an expanding global organisation, specialising in cloud-based employee management software. Their clients include some of the world's biggest names and most innovative brands.

We are looking for a Software Defect Manager to be part of a collaborative Agile engineering team. This role will involve managing the Triage function of a diverse software portfolio, developing processes and strategies for enabling exceptional customer outcomes alongside coordinating the work of several Software Engineers to ensure rapid and accurate turnaround of customer-reported software issues. The role also involves timely coordination of escalated issues and confident negotiation with stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer outcomes.

You will also manage a close link between the Customer Support team and the Product Managers, who own the various services and software products which comprise the client's extensive product offering.

Requirements:

  • A strong appetite to strategise the approach to defect management, improve process, build skills and resources, and empower teams to provide customers with ever-better outcomes
  • Considerable demonstrable experience working with software defect management
  • Ideally experience of working with Atlassian Confluence or similar
  • Experience of working with Jira and SalesForce, or similar issue management software
  • Experience of working in an Agile engineering team with the strong interpersonal skills this requires
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
  • Strong networking, coordination, and organisational skills
  • A passion for delivering exceptional service to both external and internal customers
  • A calm head under pressure, and the ability to coordinate diverse groups in time-critical scenarios
  • Experience of working with colleagues both near and offshore
  • Personable and approachable, with a positive outlook and an overall passion for excellence
  • Ability to learn quickly, conscientious & motivated whilst working in a fast-paced environment
  • Takes ownership and solves problems in a structured way
  • Analytical and inquisitive, asks appropriate questions to challenge others
  • Able to work collaboratively within a team, explaining technical issues to non-technical colleagues
  • Fluent in business English language - with excellent written and verbal skills
