Overview of a Street Sweeper
A fantastic opportunity within Harrow Council for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join us as a Street Sweeper. We are seeking self-driven and motivated individual to join us as a Street Sweeper and in return we pay a competitive rate of £10.89 per hour.

The Main Purpose of a Street Sweeper:

• Carry out tasks such as street cleaning, emptying litter bins, weed control, horticultural maintenance, assist in the repair and renovation of features such as goal mouths, overmarking of pitches , removal of graffiti and fly tipping, grass cutting, hedge cutting, pruning and building cleaning including public conveniences.
• Be aware of relevant Health and Safety legislation and ensure all work is undertaken in a safe manner.
• To work collaboratively and carry out daily work schedules to service standards to achieve high standards and customer satisfaction for street cleansing and grounds maintenance services.

The successful candidate must have:

• Must have a clear understanding of the diverse nature of Harrow's communities and the implications for services delivered to residents and service users
• Experience of operating powered plant and machinery
• Ability to deal effectively with customers and members of the public
• To be able to work flexibly in response to the service needs of a 24/7 business, including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays
• To work outdoors in all weathers and lone working
