The independent living services support people to live independently in their own homes. Support is flexible and tailored to meet each person's needs. We endeavour to provide support that will empower people to live a valued and fulfilling life.

Every day will be different where you get to work with different people with various needs and in different places to support them to live an independent and fulfilling life. The services can provide support from a few hours a week to every day. Supporting vulnerable adults with a variety of needs such as learning disabilities and mental health. Our biggest requirements are across Newport and Abergavenny although we need colleagues across Chepstow and Caerphilly too.

What this role will involve:
This role predominately involves working with an individual, providing support that is tailored to what they need. All our support workers work using the Psychological Informed Environment (PIE) framework which is centred on providing bespoke support.
You will be required to support and develop people's skill base around daily living tasks such as cooking, domestic, finances and medication administration.
You will also provide support in the community with shopping, appointments, education, and leisure activities.
There will also be aspects of emotional support through talking about their wellbeing and interests such as music, movies, sport and many more.
Additionally, there will also be opportunities to have fun by encouraging the supported individuals to take part in activities that enhance their life skills and promote independence.

Who are we looking for?
Don't worry if you haven't worked in this field before - some of our best people have no previous experience.
You'll have good written and verbal communication skills as you will be responsible for developing individual support plans and risk assessments.
You'll have the ability to work independently and be organised.
You will be required to work varied shift patterns including evenings and every other weekend.
Key Information:
We are looking for a variety of positions from 16 hour up to 30 hour contracts
\*\*\*A full driving license and access to a vehicle is essential for this role, and you will be paid for mileage incurred whilst travelling between individuals homes.\*\*\*
For this role you will require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.
To work in this role you will need to be registered with Social Care Wales. If you're not already we'll help you do this as part of your recruitment process and we will pay for this.
We offer;
* An hourly rate of £9.50

* Sleep-in or night work payments - the payment for sleep ins varies depending on the duration but a 9-hour sleep in is paid at £70.47, wakeful nights attract an enhancement of 20% on top of the hourly rate
* We also pay time & half for all bank holidays except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day which will be double time. Midnight to midnight.
