Job description
Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting a Tax Assistant to administer the processes required to achieve tax compliance globally. This will involve the delivery of global tax processes, primarily through information gathering across internal functions, as well as engaging with employees around payment requirements. Key responsibilities will include:
- Collation of global compensation data for the compliance program will be a significant part of the role
- Responsible for the Group Tax interface with the external tax service providers and the global exchange of data with them including employee compensation data, foreign tax credit information, tax payment processes, etc.
- Co-ordinate end to end tax processes for mobile employees' tax compliance working with the relevant internal stakeholders including local payroll teams, F&A shared service teams in Delhi for payrolls and payments, P&O contacts for assignees in both home and host location, Group Functions including Global Mobility teams
- Build rapport with external advisors and business operational teams and assist with their queries. Work with colleagues in Group Tax to achieve and maintain consistency across the global business in the application of tax related procedures and support the governance of tax compliance procedures especially in respect of the tracking of monies
- Supporting in identification of tax monies returned by revenue authorities or payments of any kind arising from the compliance program. Tracking of all payments made or received
- Administer processes associated with billing and fees for Employment and Expatriate taxes
- Support with determining listings of employees authorised for external tax return support services and administer the process for employees who do not comply with process and work with HR in this regard
- Manage a suitable document storage process for key correspondence items and ensure there is an audit trail in respect of payment administration
Skills / Qualifications
- It is not necessary for the holder of this role to have a Tax background but it would be helpful
- Previous experience working in a fast paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Excel
- Previous experience working in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi task and organise workload effectively
