Teaching Assistant - Handsworth Wood

Monarch Education is a Recruitment Agency that specialises in the Education industry. They assign Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Nursery Practitioners to jobs that are appropriate for each individual. Monarch is now collaborating with a primary school in Handsworth Wood that is searching for a full-time Year 6 teaching assistant to start immediately. Monday through Friday, full-time hours.

The ideal applicant for this position will have previous experience working in a school or in a similar setting. The ideal applicant will be able to confidently assist children in preparing for their SAT examinations. Good knowledge of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum and core subject areas is essential.

What you'll need to succeed

A level 3 or equivalent in Childcare or Education
To be able to ensure the safety of children at all times / supervising closely
Be able to follow the KS2 national curriculum closely ensuring different areas of learning are met
Confidently be able create and implement a wide range of learning activities alongside the Class Teacher
Previous experience working with children with challenging behaviour
Be able to regularly interact with parents / carers and building good relationships
Be confident in helping pupils study towards their examinations

Ideally you would hold a Level 3 within the Education or Childcare setting; however we will also accept candidates with extensive experience in the SEN setting.

Your application will be subject to an enhanced DBS and two references, so it is essential that you have previous experience of working an Education Setting.
