Technical Director - Electrical (Based in Norwich, Norfolk)

The Role
The Technical Director will have a proven track record in design and technical electrical project delivery, client management and team development. This role will be pivotal in being a major contributor to the strategic objectives of the sector. With experience in technical delivery of commercial electrical projects and being commercial astute, you will lead a team with your technical expertise.

The Requirements
* Commercially astute with demonstrable experience of successfully delivering large scale commercial projects
* Lead on Research and development electrical projects and develop the design and operational team.
* Provide management, leadership and a strong grounding in engineering & technical skills
* Ensure projects achieve their required results, deliverables are full developed and meet the needs our all our diverse clients
* Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and skilled sector engineering judgment in solving problems.
* Determine project deliverables, objectives and requirements, organise schedules, manage teams and resources and develop standards, quality and guidelines.
* setting standards, benchmarks mentoring and coaching the team, transference of skills and knowledge
* Provide project management expertise and commercial oversight for major projects to ensure delivery commitments are met
* Monitors project risk and risk mitigation strategy project KPIs and assists in resolution of issues or deviations
* Represents the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teams
* Carry out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards
* Support sales in tender and procurement of contractors
* Hands on involvement in local office management in conjunction with other members of the senior management team
* Leads on the coordination of engineering services, together with hands on delivery of concept and details design
Minimum Requirements
* Strong career background in the delivery of electrical projects.
* Proven experience of leading DC project work streams and understanding the electrical requirements in the UK.
* Able to demonstrate excellent team leadership and development capability.
* Detailed Knowledge of electrical design, engineering practices, techniques and procedures
* Strong commercial acumen and experience in managing project financials
* Ability to communicate internally and externally through excellent written and verbal skills
* A good financial understanding of projects and the requirements needed to ensure the success of a Project
* Knowledge of Electrical design, ELV, LV, MV and ideally HV engineering practices, techniques, and procedures
* An ability to engage at all levels and work as a committed team leader.

* Leadership & mentoring skills
* BSc/BEng in appropriate Electrical engineering discipline/ or have sufficient equivalent experience
* Sound knowledge & working application of key health and safety issues and legislation
* Appreciation & working knowledge of contract and business law
* Cost and project diagnosis of projects and ensures the return of target margins of projects
