Business Area

PwC's Global Fiscal Policy team supports governments and intergovernmental organisations across the spectrum of fiscal policy; providing policy advice, technical assistance and capacity building in the areas of public financial management, tax reform, and governance and transparency.

We work with international organisations, intergovernmental bodies, aid agencies, and directly for ministries of finance and other government departments around the world, advising senior ministers and decision makers on complex issues of significance for society. Our team includes public financial management specialists, tax policy experts, economists, accountants, policy advisors, and project managers, many of whom have significant experience working in the public sector and in international contexts.As a member of the team you would be offered the opportunity to work on interesting, challenging and satisfying assignments as part of a fantastic team of people.

Programme

During this three-day paid programme you'll get an insight into what a career at PwC could look like. You'll virtually meet mentors and buddies who'll represent the variety of opportunities available across PwC. You'll meet some of our Female colleagues to hear about their own personal career journeys, as well as from some of our networks focussed on Inclusion and Diversity Diversity and Inclusion. Through interactive sessions the programme will help you to develop confidence in a business setting and encourage you to bring your whole self to the workplace. At PwC, we nurture an environment where our people can be the best they can be. Our Women in Business programme will be a 3-day paid programme which will be run from the 28th to 30th June. You will need to be in the UK to complete this programme.

What you'll do

Due to the varied nature of the team's work, the role requires flexibility to work across a range of tasks. It will primarily involve the development of fiscal policy advice, which will include:


• Undertaking research, e.g. economic, policy or statistical research
• Preparing advice / drafting reports
• Preparing formal and informal proposals
• Assessment of reform options
• Supporting others in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets
• Coordinating with other teams and/or firms
• Working with clients, which may include travel
• Supporting the team with other activities, e.g. conferences and thought leadership

All our projects are undertaken in close collaboration with others, so candidates should be those who excel at working as part of a team. The role is based with the team in the London Embankment Place office, although may require short periods of international travel.

What you'll need

You'll need to have, or be on course for, a 2.1 degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course for a 2.1 based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study. You'll need to be in your penultimate year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree; or You'll need to be in your final year of an undergraduate degree with a one year postgraduate place confirmed; and
