Job description

Estimator Mechanical Biased

Our client a large M&E contractor has an opportunity available for an Estimator to join the Company, based at the office in East Croydon.

They are looking for an experienced, mechanically biased Estimator. Reporting to the Head of Estimating, the Estimator will be responsible for the management of tenders by researching and gathering all relevant information and win work for the Company by completing and submitting competitive tenders.

Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work under pressure is essential. Our client use Office (Word and Excel) for compilation of estimates and Dropbox for distribution of enquiries to stake holders

Description of Key Duties:

1. To undertake Mechanical tenders by reviewing and completing the tender forms and ensure they are within the given specifications. Perform evaluation of the tenders and provide the pricing in a timely manner.

2. Responsible for developing and maintaining professional working relationships with clients and sub-contractors.

3. Obtain estimates and prices from sub-contractors and suppliers respectively.

4. Prepare and issue of tenders in line with the tender documentations provided.

5. When required getting involved with site surveys.

6. When required getting involved with design after the training period, particularly design and build projects which they frequently encounter.

1. Follow up tenders and assist with securing projects.

2. Work with your immediate manager to continuously improve the process for estimating.

3. To have knowledge and understanding of the workplace health and safety regulations.

As an experienced Estimator, you will have:

* Minimum of 5 GCSE's Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification) to include English and Maths.

* Requisite knowledge about the construction industry

* Excellent numeracy and data analysis skills

* Effective communication skills

* Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and achieve deadlines

* Ability to problem solve

* Ability to work unsupervised

* Ability to work as effective member of the team

* Accuracy and attention to detail

* Effective administration skills
