We are delighted to be working closely with a highly respected family owned healthcare provider based in Wanstead, East London. Gilbert Meher are working exclusively with them to appoint a Home Manager for their 47-Bed Nursing Home.

Hours: Full time

Salary: Circa £60,000 - £65,000 per annum

The Company

My client is an independent award-winning family-run care home who pride themselves on providing exceptional person-centred care to elderly residents. Their primary concern is the welfare of residents and make sure that they receive the 24-hour nursing care and attention that they need.

Key Responsibilities

The Home Manager is responsible for ensuring a high level of care is provided to residents, meeting all statutory and regulatory requirements and leading the care team, providing strong care knowledge, leadership and management to ensure the highest standards are achieved in all areas of the home including relationship centred care.

- Build and recruit a core staff team. The primary need is for leadership of a care team.
- Demonstrate and set high standards of personal and professional behaviour and lead a culture of professionalism.
- Consistently put core ethics and values into practice and promote them in others.
- Maintain and further establish links within the community.
- Is authentically warm, genuine, trustworthy, honest, reliable, consistent and caring in all their actions and supports this culture within the organisation.
- Maintain a personal style that gets the best out of teams across the organisation.
- Builds a service based on the combined contributions of different people.
- Takes personal charge of key issues to ensure that quality care and support is provided and fosters a culture in which people are confident in taking responsibility.
- Provides advocacy for their organisation. Builds decision-making processes that set out clear roles and responsibilities to facilitate effective performance improvement.
- Hands on approach

Experience Required

- Experience managing a care home for the elderly, or an experienced Deputy Manager looking to make that step up.
- Nurse qualification with active PIN number.
- Right to work in the UK.
- A demonstrable track record of CQC compliance as a registered care home manager or excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements as a Deputy Manager.
- Experience in increasing and maintaining occupancy levels within the home.
- Hands on manager used to managing a Nursing Home.
- An NVQ in social care management.
- The manager must be able to manage a care and nursing team, leadership will be key to success for the staff team and the relatives.
