Job description
Associate Infrastructure
A Fantastic opportunity has presented itself for an Associate Infrastructure Engineer to join a medium-large civil and structural design consultancy based In London.
The consultancy operates in a range of sectors and offer numerous services from concept and planning through detailed design to construction and maintenance. They excel in producing innovative and complex designs within major cities and the urban built environment.
Due to continued growth, constant streamline of work and internal promotions they are now looking for and Associate to join their infrastructure team.
Duties:
General
Proactively and ethically motivating and leading project teams to deliver superior outcomes, collecting, preparing and compiling of fee projections for the UK business.
Allocating of resources to project teams under your direction.
Developing Seniors and Design Engineer to accept greater responsibility and higher degree of accountability.
Undertaking career planning and arrange for effective mentoring to be provided to employees under your direction so that they reach their full potential through career development and personal growth.
Identifying training (either on-the-job or through suitable courses) for all employees under your direction.
Supervising Civil staff under your direction and offering pro-active advice in relation to problem solving issues.
Actively participating in developing the UK practice including technical excellence, culture, procedures, professional development, and continuous improvement.
Developing and implementing company policy.
Compliance with, and overseeing implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures
Business Development
Promotion of company to existing and prospective clients.
Implementing branch marketing strategy in association with the Director and Associate Director- Business Development.
Establishing new clients and develop existing client relationships through excellent project delivery and repeat business.
Increasingly expanding knowledge of clients, market and project opportunities.
Assisting with identifying leads and participating in converting them into confirmed work.
Projects
Developing fee proposals and contract reviews and approval of same.
Actively involved in all projects under your direction ensuring exemplary service always afforded to clients.
Client liaison in conjunction with the team members including but not limited to:
Ensuring client requirements are clearly understood by all company personnel involved in the project.
Ensuring that the clients requirements are met and; Identifying changes in the client's requirements as may occur during the course of the project and
causing to be effected the subsequent design and documentation changes necessary to meet the new requirements.
Undertaking project coordination and representing the company at consultants meeting etc
Selecting subcontracted consultants including development of scope, programme and commercial aspects (appointments in conjunction with Director Manager).
Compiling of project invoices and reviewing and approval of those compiled by team members.
Negotiating fee variations with clients and supervising of same.
Overseeing project cost control by team members.
Assisting Commercial Manager - UK, with debtor collection on projects.
Overseeing implementation of Quality Systems on projects.
Technical
Focus on masterplanning development projects across all sectors to include regeneration, aviation, Infrastructure, industrial, to develop masterplan for submission to planning.
Demonstratable track record on the design of roads/access roads (S38/278) and drainage design with SuDs. Obtain technical Approvals S104, S106.
Developing concept design and design philosophy.
Preparing preliminary designs and/or review and approval of preliminary designs.
Design and design documentation reviews (design checking when required).
Responsibilities
Execution of all items listed in duties.
Project profitability.
Stakeholder management with service providers and local authorities to obtain technical approvals.
Client satisfaction and securing repeat business.
Continuing development of personnel under your direction.
Implementation of Quality System throughout branch office.
Compliance to, and overseeing implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures
Creation and maintenance of "team" environment in branch office.
Technical excellence of projects under your direction.
