Lunchtime Assistant
Location: London Borough of Southwark
Salary: £10-15 p/h
Contract: 11:30 - 1:30, Monday - Friday.
Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are experience working with children in schools in the UK.
Smart Teachers are recruiting for a Lunchtime Assistant role at an inclusive SEN school in Greenwich. This role is a perfect opportunity for anyone seeking to get some valuable experience of working with pupils of all ages and a range of special educational needs and difficulties, including emotional and behavioural needs. A passionate and patient can-do attitude is desirable!
Main roles and responsibilities:
To support pupils during lunchtime by preparing and clearing dining areas.
Ensure that each pupil has their designated meal and helping them with any equipment/utensils, etc.
Assist pupils with eating under the direction of teachers or other specialised staff.
To assist in ensuring the personal safety and hygiene standards of each pupil are met.
Ensure that each pupil's medical conditions are taken into consideration.
To assist in supervising pupils during leisure time and outdoor time.
The school is unique and accommodating to all, they have been rated as 'Good' in their latest Ofsted Inspection, and they offer CPD and training to all staff to upkeep this. There are opportunities to progress with this role, i.e., additional hours/responsibilities. The school has a supportive and experienced team of staff, and an inclusive learning environment for all students with physical, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.
Requirements:
You must have experience in a UK primary, secondary or SEND school.
Willing to undertake training to further develop role-specific skills.
A collaborative work ethic and willingness to adapt and help foster a stimulating and safe environment.
