Administration Officer, HMP Wormwood Scrubs, \u00A312.43 per hour

Overview Of The Position

As one of the agency suppliers to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit an Administration Officer for HMP Wormwood Scrubs for 40 hours per week. This is a long-term temporary job with a view to going permanent, with a rate including holiday of \u00A312.43 per hour.

The Admin role is in a unique working environment with a strong sense of team working. Always in demand, you could benefit from long-term contracts and there is also potential, once trained, to work in other prisons both locally and nationally. You must be local to the prison or have your own transport.

The main duties of an administrative assistant can include:

* keeping records
* filing papers
* inputting data
* photocopying
* switchboard duties
* letter writing
* dealing with telephone or written enquiries

The main duties of an administrative officer usually include:

* providing clerical support such as processing and receiving information
* maintaining files and records
* data analysis
* linking or cross checking information and assembling cases
* procuring goods or services
* placing orders, dealing with suppliers, and chasing deliveries

Experience

Previous administration experience is required for this role.

The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will have a background in admin, and will be assessed based on the following competencies: Acting with integrity, respecting others, Building relationships and team working, communicating effectively, developing self and others.

Security Clearance Required

All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure which includes a DBS check. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 2 satisfactory references, at least one from an ex-employer. You must have nothing on your criminal record.
