Your new company

My client is a very well-funded medical devices start-up, aiming to become the world's leading consumer health tech brand. Founded by an experienced team of industry veterans, entrepreneurs, and scientists, they are making a difference to human health and wellbeing by combining cutting-edge technology with a consumer-first approach and are now hiring to scale up their initial development team!

Your new role

You will become a senior member of the Research and Development team, bringing your expertise of microarrays to the development and implementation of the their core technologies.

* Key responsibilities include identifying and developing suitable techniques, and apparatus, for the collection and analysis of biomedical assay data.
* You will take initiative in the design and execution of research.
* You will be responsible for writing reports for submission to research sponsors.
* You will identify, capture and record IP, assisting with IP protection.
* You will be attending relevant team meetings, workshops, and conferences as necessary, developing contacts and research collaborations to the wider community.

What you'll need to succeed

* You will hold a PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biochemistry (or a closely related discipline), or possess equivalent industrial or commercial experience with appropriate molecular sciences.
* You will have at least 2 years' post-PhD experience in novel bioassay development and implementation, with significant quantitative bioassay data analysis and interpretation experience.
* You will have solid knowledge of biomedical statistics, and chemical and biochemical mechanisms and processes.
* You will have experience with affinity-based reagents, e.g. antibodies, affibodies, and DNA\/ RNA.
