Right now, we are looking to recruit for an interim Java Consultant to join our development team and contribute towards the back-end systems that support our product. We're looking for an innovative, passionate engineer who likes solving problems at scale, has a keen eye for automation and efficiency and considers infrastructure just another dimension of software engineering in general.

Your new role
You will be building foundational data platform services at the intersection of infrastructure, data processing on AWS and helping to build engineering convenience systems, tooling and libraries. We will aim to automate everything we do to ease convenience for the other teams and create new ideas for optimizing both systems and engineering workflows so that experiments are cost-effective and fast. You will work closely with the other engineering teams to identify their pain points and come up with ideas to solve these- we are self-organized and drive things ourselves. You will work across the full stack - from development to infrastructure, we have a varied list and we touch it all. You will be working regularly with Scala, Python and Go on the language side and Terraform for AWS, Jenkins and Spinnaker for CI\/CD, Kafka for streaming, Docker and Kubernetes to run our (and other engineers') services.

What you'll need to succeed
Your previous assignments developing in Java or Scala with AWS and Docker and Kubernetes will lead to your success. You will have experience with CI\/CD and infrastructure as code and you will view DevOps as a mindset, not a role. You will have a passion for creating high quality, testable code, we write and design our own tests. Things we don't test, we measure, and if there are problems we go in, investigate them and fix them. You will enjoy working collaboratively in team settings and be enthusiastic and passionate about your work as a Software Engineer
