Your new role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Solicitor reporting into the Associate Director of Legal as part of the University's Vice-Chancellor's Office. You will have responsibility for drafting, negotiating, and advising on a full range of contract and commercial matters and will deliver any other services required by the legal team in a time-responsive, pragmatic, and professional manner. You will be provided with sufficient training, however be expected to hit the ground running.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a Lawyer or Barrister eligible to practise in England & Wales from a private practice or in-house background with an understanding of contract and commercial law as well as a desire to quickly grasp issues within the higher education field. You will need experience in commercial and employment law, and ideally some experience in charity, IP\/IT, procurement, or higher education law, however this is not a prerequisite . You will have several years' experience and a strong academic background including an honours degree. You will be driven, committed and comfortable liaising with University staff across a range of departments, members of the Board of Trustees and committees, students, and external legal advisers.
