Your new role

Waltham Forest are leading from the front with their ICT Infrastructure strategy; utilising the latest cloud and data centre technologies. We are looking for an ambitious and talented Infrastructure Technical Lead or experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our Team. You will take a lead on the continued development of Infrastructure services including cloud and local infrastructure whilst providing a high level of operational support across all infrastructure services.

We've championed the migration to a hybrid cloud infrastructure; selecting the most appropriate cloud and data centre systems to provide an exceptional service for our modern and mobile workforce. Your role will be key in helping drive the delivery of our vision including the support, design and development of our a cloud and hyperconverged infrastructure; providing strategic technical direction, operational support for our Microsoft Office 365 and Azure tenancies as well as our other local service - Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange and server operating systems.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have:

* A strong background of working within in a large complex infrastructure environment with experience of supporting and developing both On- Premise and Cloud solutions across Microsoft technology stack
* Experience of acting in a senior infrastructure engineer or tech lead capacity across cloud migrations would be advantageous
* Experience of working within a Microsoft environment including specialist experience of O365, Windows Server, Exchange, SCCM SCOM and Windows 10.
* Strong experience of deploying Azure cloud environments as well as providing on going support with cloud environment
* Solid experience of supporting and migrating to Office 365 including knowledge of authentication technologies such as Active Directory, Azure Active Directory.
* Ideally experience of working within both a Dev\/Ops environment and working within ITIL aligned environment with a strong understanding of change management and governance

Communication

* You will be a self-motivated and dynamic individual who is able to provide technical visionary leadership, be adaptable and flexible and able to adjust to a new situations and environments
* Effective oral and written communication skills, with a logical and pragmatic approach to tasks
* Ability to communicate with people at all levels, including the ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical users
