Job description

We are currently working with a fantastic secondary school in Wandsworth who urgently need to hire a secondary school learning support assistant (LSA)
The role will be starting ASAP and will be 5 days per week on an ongoing basis. The hours for this role are 8.30am- 3.30pm. You will be expected to support the classroom teacher in lessons across key stage 3 and 4. This mixed secondary school located in has a reputation for its academic achievement. The school has an Ofsted grade as "good" and is very accessible via public transport.
Class sizes average 28 students and there is great support from the senior leadership team and from the staff you will be supporting during lesson time. To be considered for the role you do not need to hold a teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or QTLS). It is preferable that you hold a degree however the school will consider someone who has relevant experience working in secondary schools or Post 16 environments previously. You must have a valid DBS on the update service and must have relevant safeguarding training. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who may want to progress into a teaching qualification or someone who has experience as a mentor and would like more responsibility within their working role.
