Your new company
We are currently recruiting for a CISCO Network Engineer on a permanent basis for an organisation based in Basingstoke who are at the beginning of a Infrastructure refresh. The organisation are looking to move to a hybrid-cloud solution (Azure) and are looking for an experienced CISCO Network Engineer to join their existing global Network team to support delivery of current and future projects and to act as the escalation point for 2nd line Network issues across the UK.
Initially this role will be based out of Basingstoke however hybrid working will be available once you have settled into the role. There is also some international travel across Europe (as travel restrictions allow), so candidates must have a valid passport to travel.
Responsibilities
This is a hands-on role, where you will be responsible for the support, implementation and integration of Local Area Networks (Wired & Wireless), hosts, and various computer peripherals to ensure organisational operations and act as 2nd line subject matter expert on LAN\/ WLAN.
We are looking for a minimum of two years experience in a CISCO Network related support role where you can demonstrate your experience monitoring and assessing WAN\/ LAN\/ WLAN performance and optimising the existing networks, based on performance outcomes.
Reporting into the UK IT Director and working alongside the IT Network Director based in the US and global Network teams you will play an active role in the organisations existing and future network projects including the design and roll out of a new LAN infrastructure.
Experience Needed
We are looking for an experienced CISCO Certified Network Engineer who has experience:
* Supporting, implementing and integrating Wide Area Networks (WAN), devices, routers, firewalls to ensure organizational connectivity without downtime and act as 2nd line subject matter expert on WAN
* Implement organization wide network design standards in line with network architecture and procedures
* Monitor and assess WAN\\LAN\\WLAN performance and optimize the existing networks based on performance outcomes
* Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software, hardware and other network and system related issues
* Implement regional network design standards in line with network architecture and procedures
* Manage DNS\\DHCP for regional locations
* 2-4 years CISCO Network Support, Admin and Maintenance experience
* CCNA, CCNP Qualifications
* Cisco Meraki experience - beneficial but not essential
