*What does the cook do?*

Your role as the cook will be [but not limited to]:

· You will be responsible for the preparation and serving of meals for the home- cooking 2 meals a day and clean specific areas.

· To ensure all special dietary needs are followed and prepare food to a high level of quality and quantity.

· You will maintain relevant records and control stock rotation, ensure the kitchen is clean and hygienic at all times.

· You will set appropriate menus, complete weekly food shops while managing the budget, adhere to all safety standards.

· Set a professional example in work methods, procedures, personal presentation, timekeeping and hygiene.

· To maintain health and safety at work practices at all times.

*Where would I work?*

Oakley Lodge is a brand new, purpose-built residential community home for 12 adults with learning disabilities.

The single-storey main building has 8 large en-suite bedrooms as well as 2 lounges for relaxing and socialising. Additionally, the home has 4 separate one bedroom annexes, each with their own access, for individuals who benefit from a more bespoke environment. A purpose-built activity building provides a dedicated space for arts, crafts and skills training.

The home is well situated, on the edge of open countryside but close to the many amenities of Basingstoke.

*What experience do I need?*

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience working in the catering sector and/or with people with learning disabilities or other disadvantaged groups.
