SAP Project Manager - Permanent - Mix of on site and Remote - Basingstoke

Essential:- SAP Project Manager to be able to deliver strategic objectives, ensuring that SP IT projects are managed to a high standard from inception to completion. SAP Activate, Agile, Prince 2 or similar qualification, with proven ability to use the course principles to excellent effect. You should also be aware of current best practice in terms of project management approaches. Strong SAP/IT background

SAP Project Manager Key Responsibilities

• A structured approach to managing projects, ensuring required outcomes are achieved on time and within budget.
• In conjunction with the Business Transformation and IT Director, agree appropriate SLAs and KPIs for each project and assess the optimum level of resource needed, liaising with relevant departmental Heads to ensure people are available.
• Robust investigation of the required outputs for each project and the steps needed in order to achieve them. Standard project documentation should be completed, and then updated at each stage.
• Business case justification for each project, including cost/benefit analysis.
• Ensuring timely, relevant communication takes place to all stakeholders and also the wider business as appropriate, from project inception to finish.
• Providing the agreed, relevant management information and status reports weekly to the project review board.
• Tight management of project meetings/calls, ensuring they take place at the appropriate times and produce the required outputs.
• Using relevant, up to date project management tools and keeping up to date with current best practice.
• Manage the project experience for all stakeholders, whether from the Business Transformation, IT team or the wider business, resolving issues/removing obstacles and ensuring they are kept up to date, know what is expected of them, and are generally engaged in the process. The role holder will always be available for advice and queries.
• Towards the end of the project, hand over, as appropriate in a structured and timely way to the SAP Centre of Excellence, ensuring all documentation and information is clear and to hand.
• Attend and actively contribute to other Governance meetings including workload prioritisation, business design authority and strategy/roadmap.

SAP Project Manager Skills and Experience Required

Proven track record of devising and managing robust SAP projects on time, on budget, and to the required standards.
SAP Activate, Agile, Prince 2 or similar qualification, with proven ability to use the course principles to excellent effect. You should also be aware of current best practice in terms of project management approaches.
Strong SAP/IT background
Excellent communication skills at all levels, including the ability to influence senior managers and also control project meetings. You will also be able to demonstrate the written communication ability to effectively update all stakeholders, from team members through the project group, up to and including directors.
Proven ability to develop excellent working relationships with IT management colleagues and other managers/colleagues, supporting each other and taking their requirements into account regarding project management decisions/actions.
A Can Do' attitude with a track record of overcoming problems and finding solutions to issues as they crop up.
