SERVICE REQUIREMENT

Description of Requirement:

Our Client have a requirement for a Storage and Backup Infrastructure Engineer to support the daily running of the clients infrastructure both on premise and within AWS. This role will require communication with multiple stakeholders within the organisation and within Digital Services and Technology, to ensure a stable platform for key statistical productions. Working alongside the existing team to manage incidents and requests through the helpdesk system to deliver a high quality of service. The successful candidate should have experience in the management of EMC VNX and Data Domains with a strong working knowledge of Veeam Availability Suite.

TYPICAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management and support of the clients Backup and Storage infrastructure, inclusive of:

*Actioning and responding to Requests and Incidents raised within ServiceNow helpdesk system
*Undertaking Restores and implementing new backup jobs
*Investigate and review system implementations and advise of any service improvements.
*Proactively monitor storage and backup systems for faults and identify solutions to rectify issues identified.
*Maintenance and upgrade of systems to address patch and security issues
*Logging hardware and software faults with third party supplier as appropriate.
*Supporting other sections within IT on issues and challenges which occur and emerging requirements
