Job description

Production Manager

As a production manager, you'll oversee the production of bespoke engineered solutions for critical applications ensuring they are produced safely, cost-effectively and on time and that they meet the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the overall production plan to ensure the individual projects meet company and customer schedules ensuring material traceability and control

• Measurement of all production activities on sites, ensuring that Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery KPI targets are met.

• Motivate a cross functional team and create a vibrant production environment managing team performance and ensuring SQEP (Suitably Qualified Experience Personnel) are in place.

• Analyse and implement plans that ensure the Operational structure meets the need of the business

• Maintain the quality standards in manufacturing assembly as set by the Company

• Coach, support and mentor personnel within the department which is across shop floor and stores

• Ensure the efficient manufacturing and assembly of equipment in accordance with the customer requirements

• Ensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managers

• Monitor the production processes and manage continuous improvements to excel

• Monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programmes

• Liaise with different departments, teams and companies

• Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times

• Ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met

• Collate and analyse data, putting together production reports utilising the ERP system

General activities

• Carrying out any other ad-hoc duties as required to support the needs of the business.

• Working and/or visiting various sites, as required, for short periods, which may involve absence from home.

• Maintaining a continuous professional development to ensure knowledge is up to date.

About You:

• Substantial experience of managing team of 30-40 production staff.

• Working in a ISO9000 or a similar QA system

• Experience of an electronic MRP system, planning software.

• Experience of lean manufacturing implementation

• Able to build constructive relationships with customers and staff at all levels and build long-term successful partnerships.

• Able to build support for and drive through change.

• Confident user of systems including the Microsoft suite

• Decision-making / problem solving skills

Desirable:

• Six Sigma training or experience

• Experience of working within a regulated environment
