Job description
City of Portsmouth College has been formed by the merger of Portsmouth College and Highbury College and was formally constituted on 1 August 2021.
The newly formed College will give students of all ages even greater flexibility with their programmes and access to dedicated subject facilities at the different campus locations. The joint organisation will also expand a uniquely flexible curriculum offer within the city of Portsmouth, comprising A Levels, vocational diplomas, apprenticeships and higher education qualifications.

Job Title: SWIA in Carpentry and Joinery
Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £23,675.41 - £29,703.09 (Depends on Qualifications and Experience)

We have an exciting opportunity to mix your trade passion with supporting and developing the next generation of Carpenters. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Carpentry and Joinery Team to support students with workshop tasks and activities. We are looking for a strong team player who is committed to ensuring excellence for our students, is resilient and willing to learn and develop new skills.
This role is a great first step into teaching where you will be working with a team of Lecturers. Machining experience is desirable along with the ability to demonstrate all round Carpentry and Joinery Skills.
The role will be a mixture of classroom-based delivery which will involve teaching the theory elements of the Multi-Trades courses as well as employability skills and the practical sessions in the workshops. You will work closely with the Team Leader and Job Coach between the Highbury Campus and Northarbour Campus. The role is for 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year based at our Northarbour Centre.
