Job description
We are currently looking for a Procurement Manager to deliver effective procurement solutions to all companies within the Millbrook Healthcare Group. Due to significant expansion and a shift to a more strategic procurement focus, this recognisable brand is looking to bring on board an experienced, indirect procurement expert to take a leading role in developing and driving strategy across multiple procurement categories for a 6 month Fixed Term Contract period to cover the existing incumbent whilst on a project assignment. There may be the possible to extend this role beyond 6 months dependant on ongoing business need.
As the Procurement Manager you will have responsibility for the day to day running of the procurement team, in providing a professional purchasing service - meeting the supply chain requirements in the most cost effective and efficient manner. This will include the direction and supervision of other members of the procurement team.
Manage an allocated procurement spend category - being the company SME in that category
Lead the integration of allocated procurement activities into one common procurement philosophy
Align annual objectives of the function/individuals against the strategy set by the Group Procurement Director
Provide development and coaching to the team, and ensure adequate resource allocation, to enable the achievement of objectives and targets
Overall reduction of suppliers through application of good category management techniques
Develop value adding relationships with suppliers and cross-functional departments
Manage supplier invoice query resolution and implement long term resolutions with suppliers and internal functions
Analyse future requirements, pipeline, and ensure strategies are delivered on time and in full
Provide strategic direction for the procurement function that will support the overall business objectives of the company and provide sustained growth and profitability
Ensure appropriate Contracts, KPIs and SLAs are negotiated and in place with key suppliers
In conjunction with the Group Procurement Director continually evaluate and seek to improve the supply chain service to meet the evolving needs of internal and external clients
Develop management reporting to facilitate strategic decision-making by the Group Procurement Director and measure the performance of procurement against targets
About you:
Solid experience within a commercially focused procurement role, managing indirect spend categories
Proven leadership and management skills and techniques - experience of leading teams through transitional change
Experience of working for a commercial organisation within a supply chain function delivering category strategies - proven delivery of category management
Demonstrable ability to undertake complex tasks such as data analysis, executive report writing and strategy creation for suppliers
Excellent negotiator at all levels
Ability to deliver a strategic value programme and successfully communicate outcomes at senior levels across the business
Experience in dealing with suppliers and customers, both internal and external
A professional qualification such as CIPS 5 or equivalent would be desirable
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
