Job description
We are currently looking for a Part Time Purchasing Assistant to join the Ultimate Healthcare team based at our Head Office. This role is a fast paced and exciting opportunity within our Procurement function where you will support the administration of general procurement activities as well as undertaking routine purchasing tasks.
This role will require you to manage the purchasing of components and products to facilitate deliveries to the special order requests from the NHS Trusts Wheelchair and Community Equipment contracts and independent customers. The products are bespoke and manufactured as required to fulfill individual service users' needs and require the equipment to be procured OTIF whilst ensuring the best possible value for the NHS.
This role will require you to be a proactive team player, challenge the status quo and actively propose new ideas on how we can make things better and always put the customer first.
Purchase order creation and submission to suppliers
Prioritising orders in line with contract budgets and managing the process throughout
Expediting and modifying delivery dates within internal systems for overdue purchase orders
Obtaining supplier quotations, identifying those that offer the best price or sourcing the best value alternatives for the NHS Trusts
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders with regards any queries and resolutions, orders and product inquiries
Troubleshooting invoice and pricing discrepancies for materials and services, working collaboratively with the Accounts department
Managing supplier returns and ensuring associated supplier credits are processed
General procurement administration as required
What are we looking for?
Previous purchasing/buying experience within a similar role is preferred, however this position would also suit a graduate looking to gain experience in this field.
Competent IT user and a good level of MS Office Excel skills, in particular v-lookups and pivots would be beneficial
Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels across the business
Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a wider team
Ability to work at a fast pace and to deadlines
Able to solve problems using own initiative
Working toward CIPS or similar qualification would be advantageous

£22,000 pro rota
Wednesday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30 (24 hours)
