Job description

Working in conjunction with a leading civil engineering principal contractor we are looking for an enthusiastic Principal Design Engineer. This is a permanent role based in Cheshunt paying up to £60,000 per annum for the right candidate.
Your new company
Offering multi-disciplined services, this contractor works on a variety of projects from major civil engineering schemes, new-build footways, cycleways to town centre and other public realm improvements. Their teams are comprised of local people, concerned about local issues who take pride in delivering solutions which leave a positive impact on their communities.
Your new role
The Principal Design Engineer will lead on designs for highways and public realm projects across the UK, up to a value of £25m, ensuring these commissions are delivered to the highest quality standards. This is an exciting time to join as they develop their own in-house design team, trusting in you to manage portfolios, take on a leadership role and develop technical design packages in a cost effective, timely and collaborative manner. You will be relied to lead on quality outputs, applying design management systems, ensuring adherence to processes and continuous improvement, whilst supporting and coaching other team members.
About you
On offer is a challenging and rewarding role for someone who can demonstrate core technical acumen, has experience in the development of Highway and Public Realm space design packages and is Chartered or close to becoming chartered. You should have well-honed team leadership skills with the ability to support junior team members to produce exceptionally high-quality outputs. Alongside an innovative work approach, you will have the ability to develop and build relationships with stakeholders to manage ensure smooth project delivery.
