Duties/ResponsibilitiesEMCOR UK are currently seeking to add 4 Double Day Shift Technicians to our GSK Ware site - these positions are Fixed Term Contract positions, running from February 2022 to September 2022.Shift Pattern/Hours: 8 Hour Shifts, shift pattern (06:00 - 14:00, 13:50 - 21:50), 5 days per week - Mon-Fri excludes Weekends and Bank Holidays.On Call Rota: 1 in 4.Job Purpose:To provide a comprehensive engineering service to the Ware R&D Buildings B3, B4 & B9 as part of the site Double Day shift team.Assist the Maintenance Supervisor on all works relating to operational matters, Regulatory and Statutory compliance. Ensure that you work to GSK Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety procedure and the Company IMS as it applies to the Contract.To ensure maximum availability of engineering equipment utilising safe, efficient, planned and reactive maintenance services including fault diagnosis and resolution. Advise on any delays to maintenance schedules or plant availability in a prompt and professional manner.Responsibilities:Technical:To effectively communicate with your shift team and ensure a diligent shift handover is completed to the oncoming shift to include but not limited to any critical alarms, issues and maintenance activities that need further investigation or escalation.Identify and promote continuous improvement opportunities across the business.To carry out housekeeping duties on a regular basis in responsible areas to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and equipment and system integrity.To investigate, check, test, diagnose and rectify faults to a proven level of competency on both electrical and mechanical equipment within your area of expertise or experience.To ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner and are in line with both EMCOR UK and GSK policies and procedures.To operate and monitor plant, services and equipment utilising safe, efficient, planned and reactive maintenance services including fault diagnosis and resolution.Advise on any delays to maintenance schedules or plant availability in a prompt and professional manner.To correctly record valid information on all PPM work orders to include a comprehensive description of the task taken and any recommendations for remedial action as required.To liaise with and assist the Maintenance Supervisor in the generation and reviewing of assets with regards to LCAM, CAR scores and completion of justification comments if a change has been noted.To attend technical seminars and training courses as appropriate.Apply to HR policies and procedures to a satisfactory standard as and when required.To always comply with GSK & EMCOR UK SSoW and HSW Policies and procedures.To use the SOR system to report any near misses or accidents.To keep up to date with GSK My Learning and EMCOR UK Workwise training requirements.To maintain proficiency on all relevant GSK and EMCOR UK IT packages and systems.To establish a consistently positive working relationship with GSK clients and end users and ensure they are aware of engineering work in their areas.To ensure all PPM work orders are completed on time.To be part of the site OOH callout system (1 week in 4)To provide support for holiday and sickness cover for other members of the double day shift team.To assist with all 'out of hours' shutdown activities and ensure that the plant downtime is kept to a minimum.Participate in site emergency recovery outside of core hours with full understanding of the site grab pack procedure.To accept training in Permits-to-Work, issue and/or receive Permits-to-Work, once trained, for certain tasks and ensure the process is followed correctly.Provide support for other team members, when available, OOH.To actively support on-site shift team, demonstrating support for other members of the shift, staff and clients as required. To liaise closely with the other shift staff in supporting holiday and sickness cover for yourself and for other shift team members when practicable..When on call:To respond to all OOH calls within 20 minutes.To attend site, if necessary, within 1 hour.To follow the site escalation procedure.To attend to all critical BMS alarms out of normal working hours, including bank holidays and ensure that it is recorded in the BMS critical alarms electronic log and that these are escalated in the appropriate manner especially when GSK operations could be impacted.To manage subcontractors in line with GSK & EMCOR UK SSOW and Permit Control processes.To ensure that subcontractor performance is consistent and satisfactory.Monitor subcontractor performance as required and feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor.Other factors relevant to the role:Be part of the site Double Day shift team and be willing to undertake a multi-functional role.During your duties you may have access to confidential information, which must not be divulged to an unauthorised person at any time.This job description is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities to be undertaken by the post holder and you may be required to carry out other duties, which are felt to be reasonable and commensurate with the post.Person SpecificationExperience:A good working knowledge or operational experience of the Integrated Biological Platform Sciences (IBPS) environment, including an understanding of related SLAs and KPIs.Ideally multi skilled individual with an either electrical or mechanical maintenance bias however we would also consider any other M&E skill base bias i.e. Refrigeration, GasSafe etc.To hold either a formally recognised mechanical or electrical qualification, or to be able to demonstrate experience in either in a maintenance field.To hold a qualification in another recognised maintenance engineering discipline or to be able to demonstrate relevant experience in a maintenance field.Have practical experience in risk assessments, method statements & safe systems of work with regards to maintenance engineering activities.A working knowledge of computer programmes is essential (MS Office) and an experience of Smartsheets, Teams and Excel would be an advantage.An ability to produce reports and be capable of maintaining electronic records.Knowledge of GxP would be an advantage.Knowledge of DALI lighting system.Experience of a CMMS/CAFM system is required. Prior knowledge of EAM would be an advantage.Have knowledge of COSHH, LOLER and PUWER regulations and other EHS legislation.Personal Competencies:Ability to uphold EMCOR UK values.Highly motivated and capable of working under own supervision.
