Arc Executive Headhunters are proud to be representing a market leader in the design and manufacture of welding equipment. With a strong emphasis on research and development our client has one of the largest ranges of welding machines, accessories and consumables, suitable for general repair and maintenance to the most advanced applications. With an ethos of investing for the future our client is once again expanding and looking to add an Area Sales Manager to its team in the UK.

The Role

Reporting to the Divisional Manager - Industrial Welding, this home based role will focus on developing our clients brand and sales turnover within the region. In the role, the Area Sales Manager will have direct contact with distributors, end user customers and members of the team; including international colleagues. In particular the role will require close co-operation with the UK sales manager team.

Key Responsibilities of the Area Sales Manager will include:

* Work closely with the Divisional Manager to implement the agreed strategy

* Identify & develop business opportunities in the region

* Manage new & existing key client relationships

* Provide training and demonstrations to end customers and key distributors

* Provide technical advice and troubleshooting support of the product range to customers

* Understand the competitive landscape and industry developments

* Proactively support the full sales team including aftersales support

* Attend customer trade shows and open days

Desired Skill & Experience

Experience of supplying welding, cutting or industrial equipment would be of great interest, (but not neccesary), allowing the successful individual to adapt quickly to the role. Experience of working with industrial distribution in the region would also provide a distinct advantage. Previous expereince as an Area Sales Manager or similar positon is needed.

The qualities of the successful candidate for the Area Sales Manager will include a proactive approach to sales, an ability to secure sales from major key accounts, a track record of sales within the sector, a strong working knowledge of the needs of the market, (end users, contractors and distributors), as well as a commercial awareness of the business including logistics, margin constraints and the delivery of sales budgets and targets.

The personal qualities of the successful candidate will include an enthusiastic approach to direct sales and customer management, an ability to command co-operation from fellow employees, and a structured approach to the management of key accounts. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication and negotiation skills are also required.

With the ethos and culture of our client we require someone who is self-motivated, an independent thinker and is enthusiastic in new lead generation. We also require someone who can effectively deliver our clients message in a competitive market. Although based in the UK, the role will cover international markets, so experience outside the UK would be of benefit
