Field Engineer

Your new company

Your new role

Working with local managers to provide technical and installation support you will also act as a conduit between the organisation's wider services and the central IT department. Through this role you will provide basic training to enable IS service to be fully accessed and utilised to the agreed service level target in a way that promotes the department and its work ethos.

Duties include:

1. Represent a professional front-facing service to the organisation's staff across all geographies

2. Take responsibility for attending remote service sites, providing onsite technical support

3. Attend site during project openings \/ closure to commission and de-commission centrally controlled IT equipment.

4. Provide basic user training \/ familiarisation as required

5. Maintain professional development through research of recent and relevant developments in IT

6. Apply continuous improvements to service and processes,

7. Develop and apply technical knowledge of Microsoft based infrastructure

8. Provide direction and guidance to less experienced IT staff

9. Develop strong relationships with remote service users, being the ambassador for the organisation's IT department,

10. Develop strong relationships with internal IT teams to ensure information flows both ways, work collaboratively with stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

1. Foundation Qualification in ITIL (or relevant experience) (Essential)

2. Qualifications and\/or experience of other standards associated with IT best practice

3. Exceptional customer service skills with expertise in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and solving complex IT related problems

4. Familiar with the use of helpdesk systems

5. Strong working knowledge of computer hardware and network operating systems,

6. Technical knowledge of MS-Windows operating system, MS Office suite, Azure and Active Directory.

7. Knowledge of mobile device (Android) integration with Windows networks (desirable)

8. Knowledge of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and the benefits the bring to internal customers

9. Comfortable in an extremely fluid, fast-paced environment, with multiple high-priority demands

10. Demonstrates exemplary attention to detail and the ability to multi-task, commitment to continuous improvement, and an understanding of internal and external security requirements

13. Current full UK driver's licence
