Job description
Bouygues Energies & Services, has an amazing opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Highways and Local Government business unit supporting on going work within street lighting across Kent based from our offices in Sittingbourne. This business focuses on smart highways and street lighting projects across the UK supporting our local communities and our wider highways infrastructure.
The role:
To assist in the many aspects of the management of sub-contractors
To assist in preparing an initial forecast of turnover and margin
To minute all contractual meetings
To attend site as required
To assist in monthly profit/loss sheets for contracts
To assist and keep an accurate record of daily plant and labour resources
To keep all records, correspondence and commercial information updated and filed
To assist in the preparation of claims that fall outside the normal scope of works
To establish and maintain good communication with all customers, suppliers, other contract staff and the work force
The person will have:
Excellent desktop skills (MS Office, Project etc)
A working knowledge of main types of contract including NEC3 D&C and TSC (and NEC4) and JCT suite of contracts
Accuracy and attention to detail
Self-motivated with good people skills
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
