Job description

The successful applicant will have operational delivery experience in the M&E, HVAC, renewable energy, building services or social housing markets.

Our client specialises in the decarbonisation of heat with turnkey design and delivery energy efficiency upgrade projects, adding value to its clients in a number of ways from high quality project delivery, provision of funding solutions and technical consultancy services. Additionally, our client is a market leader in the UK housing sector for communal and district heating, and has an extensive portfolio of clients including local authorities, housing associations and county or city councils.

The business has a strong can-do ethos with a passion for making things happen. Our client has experienced a period of significant growth in its client base and is seeking an Operations Manager in Scotland to drive growth. The role reports to the Group Development Director and Operational Services Director working on the delivery of supply connection and or installation projects across a range of clients. The role will involve working closely with the Business Development Manager to help price and win work. You will be responsible for developing supply chains in Scotland and overseeing the operational running of projects, ensuring all funding obligations and business targets are met. You will ensure projects are compliant to with H&S, ISO, regulatory and company standards.

The Role

* Develop and manage supply chain, material procurement and operations - project staff

* Support business development with bidding activity

* Support Site - Project Managers with all project operations

* Responsible for preparation of monthly valuations, collating information from all managers

* Ensure funding obligation targets are met to deadlines

* Attending performance review meetings with clients

* Management of HSEQ for all projects and implementing the company's policies

* Any other tasks identified by the Operational Services Director necessary to ensure successful project delivery is achieved

* Onboard all new installers and contractors ensuring compliance against current legislation

* Work closely with the operations team tracking project delivery against monthly forecasts and targets

* Ensuring all projects are complaint with company policies, procedures, H&S and ISO

* Travel as required throughout Scotland

The Person

* Educated to degree level with proven experience and success in an operations role within the aforementioned sectors

* Confidence, tenacity and drive, and the ability to communicate at all levels

* SMSTS or similar and IOSH or NEBOSH

* Budget management

* Highly organised with good time and team management

* Understanding of operations and supply chain management within the aforementioned sectors

* Implementing and enforcing company policies and objectives

* Ability to gain confidence of clients and teams, and create strong working relationships

* Keen interest in energy efficiency and decarbonisation

* Full clean driving licence - willing to travel

* Experience of developing energy efficiency projects

* Experience of social housing markets and - or district heating and renewables markets
