The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our established team at Thanet Vets (Margate branch). Your role will be varied and include assisting the Veterinary Surgeon in surgery, monitoring anaesthetics, in-patient care, performing radiographs and laboratory tests, undertaking some schedule 3 procedures and general cleaning of the practice. You will be required to work 40 hours per week with 1:5 weekends, there is no OOH required for this role as this is covered by Vets Now. The shift pattern varies, with the earliest start time being 7.30am and a latest finish time of 8pm.

Salary up to £25,000 per annum depending on experience.

About Us

We are a first opinion small animal veterinary practice on the Southeast coast of Thanet. We have been serving the local community for over 50 years. In practice, we have digital radiography and dental radiography, endoscopy, ultrasound, TPLO equipment and a fully equipped laboratory. Thanet Vets is situated near a number of lovely beaches and is close to the train station with great city links.

Team and Culture

We have a great team of 5.5 Veterinary Surgeons, 4.5 RVNs (including yourself) 2 SVNs, 1 VCA, 7 Receptionists and a supportive management team. We have 2 certificate holders in small animal surgery and anaesthesia and analgesia and a vet soon to start undertaking a certificate in diagnostic imaging. We fully encourage and support development in practice and via certifications. We are one big family at Thanet Vets with a supportive and encouraging environment. We also regularly enjoy socialising together outside of work.

Applicant Requirements

You will need to be a Registered Veterinary Nurse. However, newly qualified nurses will be considered. We are seeking a passionate Veterinary Nurse with a positive can-do attitude. You will need to be a team player and be happy work within a positive and supportive culture. Excellent bedside manner is expected in practice.
