Job description

Do you want to handle designs for our largest capital investment projects? Do you take pride in delivering technical excellence? Are you able to lead and mentor others to achieve the best results? If so, you'll want to know more about this opportunity…

We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.

As a Senior Civil Engineer with knowledge of the utilities sector, you'll bring the technical expertise and experience to execute our large capital expenditure projects to meet expected criteria. You'll play a central role in how we plan, design and build the structures and facilities that provide clean drinking water to our customers in the most sustainable way.

In this role, you'll be responsible for the technical deliverables on projects working under direction from the Project Manager and in accordance with requirements set out by the Lead Civil Engineer. You could be producing or checking technical reports; providing key inputs into programmes, estimates or contract preparations; or delivering technical designs in line with specifications. You'll also line manage, train and delegate to other Civil Engineers within the Engineering team. So, you're someone who can mentor, encourage participation and influence outcomes.

Whether you're exercising engineering judgement in difficult situations or minimising technical issues on projects, you'll have the persistence and ability to see the job through. What you enjoy most is the challenge and reward that come with delivering sizable, multi-disciplinary projects and creating the way to achieving the best outcomes.

South East Water's Assets Management Plan period (AMP 7) through to 2025 contains many innovative developments above and below ground, including the construction of 2 large surface reservoirs, UV schemes, complex treatment processes and water quality schemes. Your depth of knowledge and expertise in the Water Industry will be highly valued.

So, you'll be able to communicate confidently at all levels, from technical team members to contractors, through to external partners and senior stakeholders. It's your collaborative approach and attention to detail that enables you to reach your goals.
