Job description

We are looking for a Degree qualified Control Systems Engineer with 5+ years experience in manufacturing .This is a client side position dealing with subcontractors and internal customers. The sucessful applicant will be part of a multidiscipline central engineering division of a large international business who have manufacturing plants throughout the world . There is great potential for career development and opportunity to travel. (especially in Europe, North and South America.) Indeed the role will demand frequent overseas visits with less frequent 6 week periods during installation and commissioning.
The Role of a Control Systems expert
The Control Systems Engineer will be part of a total project engineering service for capital projects worldwide.
This service covers all aspects of the project from feasibility, specification, design and procurement to installation and commissioning.
Projects vary between the build of a new factory on a Greenfield site to a major overhaul of an existing plant.
Key Responsibilities of the Control Systems Engineer
Process control network design
Ethernet switch configuration
SCADA System/ HMI configuration
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs • Detailed design, factory acceptance testing and commissioning
Windows OS installation, security and configuration
OT/IT interface
Desired skills and experience.
GE iFix SCADA software
Hirschmann network equipment
Control panel design
Camera & vision systems
Schneider/ Allen Bradley PLC programming experience
Structured troubleshooting of PLC, HMI and SCADA software
Experience of hazardous area specifications and standards
Distributed control systems
Instrumentation
P&ID's
Feasibility studies
Budget preparation
Qualification
Degree level required in an appropriate engineering discipline .
Working towards Chartered Engineer
