Tradewind are recruiting for a Special Needs TA at an outstanding special needs primary school in Manchester!

To join us and be successful in this Special Needs TA role, you will need to:

Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one), Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks.
Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.

About the role:

Special Needs TA at a special needs primary school in Manchester.
Start date: ASAP
Full time and long term with the potential to turn in to a permanent contract.
Pay up to £80 per day depeding on experience.
You will supporting a Year 5 pupil on a 1:1 basis with Autism.
They have sensory & communication needs and use PECS, Now & Next & Visual Timetables etc.
The young person is working at lower levels to their peers and is currently at KS1 level.
You will need to be patient, empathetic and have a real passion to support young people who have additional obstacles to learning.
Ideally you will have some previous experience as a Primary Teaching Assistant, Early Years Teaching Assistant, Nursery Nurse, SEN Teaching Assistant or Support Worker with children.

About the pupils:

Pupils are aged 3-11 and have an EHCP for SEN including Autism & Complex Needs.
There are verbal and non verbal pupils, physical needs, sensory needs, medical needs, speech & language needs as well as emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Staff focus on addressing obstacles to learning first, build amazing relationships with pupils and really get to understand their needs before engaging and pushing pupils to progress academically.
The new Special Needs TA / SEN Teaching Assistant will need to be empathetic, adaptable, resilient and patient.
