Job description

Role:Senior Project Engineer

Our Client is a leading global manufacturing company used across the world. Due to increased growth, an outstanding career opportunity has become available to join their engineering team as a Senior Project Engineer.

As the Senior Project Engineer, you will have 2 direct reports, you'll manage new products, process, and material-based projects at the Blackburn site to ensure their delivery is on time and on budget.You'll act as the link between their customers' needs and their supplier's capabilities.

Other key duties and responsibilities include;

* Project manage new enquiries to the site by managing the process from initial brief to justification and costing.

* Lead the Technical implementation team to drive all projects to a successful conclusion and ensure all Production expectations are met.

* Assist in writing capex proposals ready for submission.

* Control of project's capex budget.

* Monitor all projects and build a picture of why projects were won/lost including lessons learnt and implementation improvement actions.

* Maintain and manage the sites product drawings and Technical data base.

* Coordinate and manage technical trials and requests.

* Provide Technical support to customers on their filling lines to ensure products perform in line with expectations.

* Assist the sales team with Technical support to customer enquiries.

* Participate and contribute to the sites NPD and quality review meetings.

* Foster relationships with the R+D departments of our suppliers, customers, and CPI groups.

* Assist with sustainability projects related to evolution of the site's product offerings from justification to implementation.

In order to be successful in this position you'll have the following skills and experience:

* HNC / Degree educated. With a good practical knowledge of how Injection moulding scientific process works

* Automation experience

* Previous injection moulding experience - Desirable

* Experience of leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives

* Hands on pragmatic style and ability to influence at all levels

* Skilled communicator and motivator

* Comfortable with speaking up within a peer group when required.

* Strong team worker.

* Flexibility and Prioritisation of tasks.

* Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

* Driving Licence

* Willingness to travel
