We are recruiting for a Construction Teacher at an outstanding Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bolton!
About the role:
Construction Teacher at an outstanding PRU in Bolton.
Start date - ASAP.
Full time and long term and likely to last until July 2022.
Potential to turn in to a permanent contract for the right person.
Pay up to £160/day dependent on experience and qualification.
Teaching pupils Construction based skills that can equip them for work life after education.
Pupils are working at lower levels to young people in mainstream school.
You will need to engage the pupils and build relationships quickly and have an ability to manage challenging behaviours.
If you have worked as a Construction Lecturer before in Post 16 then you will also be considered for this role.
Unqualified teachers will be considered so long as they can evidence a track record of teaching Construction.
About the school:
Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Bolton.
No more that 10 pupils per class with a high ratio of Teaching Assistant & Behaviour Support staff to pupils.
Rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
Excellent modern facilities to meet the needs of their pupils and their behaviour.
Strong links with other PRUs and even provide advise and best practise to other similar locations nationwide.
Aim to help students find confidence and independence so that they can find enjoyment in life after school and make an active and positive contribution to society.
About the pupils:
Pupils are aged 11-16 and have an EHCP for Social, Emotional & Mental Health Needs (SEMH).
Pupils need support managing emotions and behaviour.
Many are working at lower levels than their peers in mainstream school.
Some students have other needs such as Autism, ADHD, ODD or Dyslexia.
