Project Engineer - Homebased / North West - Energy - Up to £55,000

About the Company

Our client deliver Maintenance Services to an expanding portfolio of Biomass and EfW power stations throughout the UK and Ireland. Due to this expansion a position is available for a new Project Engineer to join the team and help to continue the successful delivery of Maintenance Services to existing and new clients. Maintenance Services delivered to the various stations consist of a mixture of planned major outages, reactive unplanned outages and long term service agreements. The Project Engineers primary purpose will be to manage the execution phase of the projects.

Project Engineer - Requirements

Technical background with a minimum of HNC or equivalent in mechanical / process / thermal engineering
Good knowledge of power generation processes ideal but not essential.
Minimum of 5 years experience from power plant operation and/or project delivery role, ideally in service business and/or power generation industry
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Fluent written and spoken English
Good organisational and project management skills
Service-minded
Capable to prepare technical reports
Willingness to travel across UK and some abroad travel
Good experience in construction projects
High pressure welding knowledge an advantage
CAD/ Solidworks an advantage. Project Engineer - Responsibilities

Responsible for the successful delivery of planned and reactive maintenance works at Biomass & WtE power plants
Planning and co-ordination of all project activities to achieve critical path of client outage programme
Managing subcontract/supplier work packages from creation of RfQ documents, through procurement and delivery
Detailed reporting of progress, including any issues, delays and contract variations throughout the course of the project
Handling of contract variations both up and down stream to ensure financial success of the project
Working towards being technical product expert for boiler service and retrofits
Preparation of proposals for small to medium sized projects.
Attend multiple sites as main point of contact for emergency responses.
Responsible for stock control of equipment and tooling.
Development of service partner network
To maintain existing customer contacts, inc customer feedback and satisfaction
To transmit the market, customer and competitor information to the management
To give presentations on project performance and continuous improvement opportunities, etc
Manufacture auditing and reporting
Preparation of station reports
Follow-up for account receivables, warranty/ quality issues.
