Summary

To work closely with the Head of Safeguarding and Quality (MLCSU) and the ICS LPS Portfolio Lead in Lancashire and South Cumbria to provide clinical leadership and project mobilisation of LPS on behalf of the ICS.

To ensure that the LPS service is mobilised in the ICS area in line with expectations of an agreed workstream and work plan.

This role sits within the Specialist Safeguarding Service within MLCSU but is accountable to the LPS ICS Portfolio Lead.

The role will be responsive to ICS priorities and expectations and strategically mobilising the LPS agenda and business plans. The post holder will have experience of project planning and extensive understanding and experience of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) legislation.

The post will provide strong clinical leadership and create and maintain strong relationships with health and social care partners.

The post holder will be responsible for developing and setting best practice standards and service delivery relating to the MCA and associated legislation. The post holder will set strategic plans relating to compliance with the MCA and LPS and be responsible for the implementing and monitoring of those plans to ensure constant service improvement and development.
