Engineering Manager

Lancaster

£50,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience) + Car Allowance

Monday - Friday, 40 Hours

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a market leading feeds and compounds manufacturer.

They are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to support the current Engineering team team to play a pivotal role in project management and managing the maintenance activity within the department.

The candidate;

* NEBOSH - diploma or equivalent (desirable)
* Must have a hands on approach and lead from the front
* Engineering Maintenance experience in a high volume, fast moving feeds and compounds manufacturing environment is desirable
* Engineering experience within mills and animal feed is desirable
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
* Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Proven experience in driving through continuous improvement activities
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Behavioural safety
* Flexible approach and must be able to travel to 3 sites in the UK

Duties and Responsibilities;

* To manage the design, costing, installation and implementation of all aspects of annual maintenance and CAPEX project work
* To be actively involved in the day-to-day delivery of allocated projects, ensuring that all necessary reporting and administration deadlines are met.
* Ensure that all operational sites and new installations comply with the requirements of H&S legislation, IPPC Permit conditions, HACCP and UFAS accreditation.
* Develop functional and technical specifications for all elements of work which you are responsible for.
* Continually identify opportunities for improved performance, efficiencies and cost savings whilst ensuring that all current and impending legislative requirements are met.
* Manage the engineering repairs and maintenance budget, together with the capital expenditure budget for all sites.
* To produce all necessary documentation of for commissioning, training, maintenance and maintain records as required by legislation.
* Working alongside the Safety, Health and Environmental Manager ensure that the safety standards of existing plant and equipment across the mills are maintained in line with company policy and procedures.
