Lancaster's award-winning Facilities Division operates across campus to maintain and develop their buildings and estate and provide vital 24/7 support services throughout the year.

The University is now seeking to make the key appointment to the post of Principal Engineer within the Facilities Estate Operations team. The postholder will take the lead role in ensuring statutory provision of a safe and compliant built estate that delivers high performing strategic and operational services. Managing a team of professional engineers, you will have comprehensive managerial experience and understanding of building engineering and site infrastructure services, planned and condition-based life-cycle maintenance, project and contract management experience. You will collaborate and support the wider Facilities Leadership Team in the development and delivery of the Facilities vision and strategy.

We are seeking an industry-leading candidate with significant experience in an engineering / building services leadership role across a large, complex organisation with a broad range of core activities. With a background and professional qualification in building services, you will possess a proven track record understanding the fundamentals of engineering and applying them to a campus environment.

With excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, the appointed candidate will possess the proven ability to operate successfully with a multitude of internal colleagues and external stakeholders.

The University can support combined home / onsite working arrangements providing that campus commitments take precedence.
